Street Style at Home in this Year's Ultimate Upcycle Challenge

Vancouver’s top style influencers are once again bringing their street style to your home decor at the Vancouver Home + Design Show with DIY Runway presented by Rust-Oleum Canada in support of Habitat for Humanity Society of Greater Vancouver.
A sustainable design project that focuses on upcycling and DIY inspiration, DIY Runway raises awareness and much-needed funds for Habitat for Humanity Society of Greater Vancouver. This year, eleven of Vancouver’s most stylish tastemakers and local influencers will draw inspiration from an item chosen from their own closet and use it to repurpose and upcycle a pre-loved and hand-picked item from ReStore Vancouver. They’ll use a curated box of goods from Rust-Oleum Consumer Brands Canada® to transform their pre-loved piece into a one-of-a-kind, trendy home decor item.
Visitors will have the chance to bid on these unique pieces to add to their home decor collection during the home show. Imagine: a wall-hanging inspired by those perfectly ripped jeans, or a one-of-a-kind lamp inspired by that amazing sequined skirt worn on New Year’s Eve. DIY Runway is truly where style meets substance, with 100% of the silent auction proceeds benefitting Habitat for Habitat for Humanity Society of Greater Vancouver to help provide local families with a safe, affordable place to live.
An exciting line-up of influencers ensures that this year’s pieces will be unique, on-trend and sure to add something special to your home. Melanie Auld’s DIY Runway inspiration? An edgy leather jacket paired with a soft, flowy white maxi dress. The jeweler will transform this pre-loved chair using her Rust-Oleum goods.
Vancouver Sun + The Province Style Writer and Covet & Acquire blogger, Aleesha Harris (pictured above left), will rely on her signature minimalist style as inspiration to repurpose the side table shown above.
CFOX 99.3FM Radio Host Karen Khunkhun will be transforming this ornate chest based on her photo inspiration as pictured above left.
All eleven pieces will be on display and open for bidding during the show, located between the Main Stage and the FloForm Lounge. Lovers and enthusiasts of do-it-yourself can also get an added dose of inspiration on the Urban Barn Main Stage at the Vancouver Home + Design Show, where Lifestyle and DIY Expert Leigh-Ann Allaire Perrault will appear on Friday, October 28 at 6:00pm and Saturday, October 29 at 4:00pm.
